I'm doing a book cull and I found this...
It didn't scan too well but the due date stamp says: April 7th, 1983. So it's a bit overdue. Before I saw this, I was ready to fling the book into the charity shop pile but now I just can't. Now I really want to go to Calgary, to that library, walk right up to the desk and, as straight-faced as possible, return it. haha!
I wonder what the fine might be? =:-o
Ya got more guts than me if you're considering that! Don't piss off librarians!
ReplyDeleteYou just wait til Sarah reads this, then you will be in trouble....
ReplyDeleteSome libraries have amnesties, when you can hand in your overdue books and spare weapons. The librarians use the weapons on the public who don't take their books back in time.
A little known fact
Tut, tut.....Proof, if it were needed, that you are indeed hell bound.
ReplyDeleteDr. Zhivago to boot! You Rebel you! It's a freaking collectors item by now. One of my favourite books and movies. Then again, I love anything that causes controversy. I wouldn't worry too much about returning it though, the Librarian probably lost her job over it! You could always sell it on EBay.
ReplyDeleteLOL and oh crap, Mog! Sarah... and she's attending that Librarian/Arms Trading Convention in Chicago.
ReplyDeleteBlogging = ass whoopin'.
As Neil already knows. ;-)
Bogey, I don't think I actually ever read it all the way through! I think I got frustrated by not understanding a lot of it (was only 14/15?) and watched the film instead. Maybe I should actually read it before I shell out the $3,225 in overdue fines. haha!
Thank you for the chuckle and you do have spunk! I treat our librarian to hugs and smiles for just such occassions!
ReplyDeleteSmiles
How many working kidneys do you have to offer?
ReplyDeleteNo offence at all taken re Banksy exhibition, it's nice to have people giving me their honest opinion. :)
Oooh, you are SO BAD. But funny.
ReplyDeleteA tad overdue is going to cost you !
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comments peeps.
ReplyDeleteCarolyn, I could use your comment for one on my 'For my British friends' posts!
I knew I'd come to One Slice at a Time as soon as I saw the word spunk.... ;-)
ReplyDeleteSo YOU'RE the one they were talking about in Chicago! Watch out, a posse of librarians may be showing up at your door. Oh, right. You live pretty far from Chicago. And the Calgary library already purchased a replacement copy twenty years ago. I guess we'll have to look for another miscreant to pursue.
ReplyDeleteDo you come here often, Neil? ;-)
ReplyDeleteSo, I'm off the hook, Sarah? Whew!
ReplyDeleteI still want to return it though. And I will! When I'm ever in Cowtown again.
lol..... specially when you wink at me!
ReplyDeleteI just have something in my eye! ;-)
