Such beautiful photographs and I can just imagine the beautiful fragerance. That second photo with the violets growing in the cracks of the stone stairs is wonderful and you captured it so well. I love the ferry also but I don't like a ferry that feels like a cruise ship which the Northern Expedition was built to feel like. One of my favourite ferry rides is the dinner cruise from Tewassen to Sydney and for the longer haul the Queen of Chilliwack on the Discovery Coast trip to Bella Coola. There are no cabins on board so they give you tents to set up on deck and if you are kayaking they will do a "wet launch" off the stern! It will be the next boat to be decommissioned. Thanks for stopping by and sharing your world. Smiles
yep you fooled me ......honest you did .We have been driving round the last week or so enjoying the blossom and its fun when it starts to snow enjoy it for another year XX Don
Thank you for your comments, people, though some of you are a hard sell! ;-)
Carolyn, I know exactly what you mean. The older ferries are a more interesting ride. They're more cosy and in keeping with how I feel about the coast. And some of the smaller ferries to the various smaller islands where you're essentially crossing on a floating parking lot are positively exhilarating. Wet launching kayaks! Cool. Enjoy it while you can, I guess. I hope to see more of Haida Gwaii on your blog now that you're on this coast (not the PEI isn't gorgeous).
ac/dc - sink the pink or aerosmith - pink or pink floyd. yeah, pink floyd. their out of this world music would suite your photos. never seen anything like that. very out of this world. in a good way. very good! :)
Gotta admit, I had to look twice but it did look a little pink. Right now we have some of the local Magnolia trees coming to bloom. I know it is short lived but nice just the same. Your pics are very colourful indeed. Grocery shop?!
I love that time of year - when the blossoms are falling and the petals pile up in little drifts! We will be there in another couple of weeks, so I can enjoy your photos, and dream of my own pink snow! I love the stone steps with the violets! The solid rock, and the ephemeral petals, with the violets growing, somewhere between the two, in terms of how long they will last!
It totally gets like that here too...snow in May is indeed very pretty.
ReplyDeleteYou didn't fool me for a minute. Pink snow ?
ReplyDeletepink snow. Show off, we will have blossom soon, then you will be jealous.
