Jack Layton 1950 - 2011

Canada lost a rare thing today: a half-way decent politician. Leader of the NDP Party and Leader of the Official Opposition Jack Layton died this morning.



I won't repeat all the information, career highlights, tributes and what not found elsewhere in the media - like the CBC's coverage. Instead I will post a fun video of him that I've always liked. This is from the Rick Mercer Report when Rick visited Jack's home in early 2010.




RIP Jack.

    I really knew very little about this man - but he seemed a real gent - and his "letter" to Canada made me cry !

    RIP indeed.
